THE BEGINNING OF ROSSONERO
Enrique grew up in a family of restaurateurs, the creator of Rossonero had always been interested in the art of good wine and gourmet dishes. Working in the restaurant, Enrique would offer his customers new dishes to taste, inspired by his vision of creating a healthy and innovative product.
Diners would get to try his new cuisine, and Enrique would use their feedback to perfect the dish. After about 18 months in the kitchen, Enrique eventually found the best method to get the texture of Tuna just right. A mild flavour was artfully infused to pair well with the flavour profile of the Yellowfin Tuna. This combination of natural herbs and spices gave Rossonero’s products the delicious taste you’ll come to know and love.
THE GROWTH of ROSSONERO
Regular customers, including Canadian tourists began asking Enrique if they could purchase Tuna sausages to bring home; interest to sell the products began growing for small businesses. So, Enrique started to standardize the products to produce and sell in greater quantities.
Once the products were ready to be listed in stores in Mexico, Enrique showcased his innovative Tuna Sausages on Shark Tank Mexico. On the show he received positive feedback from every investor, which ultimately catapulted Rossonero into fame within Mexico.
Rossonero is now proudly sold in Canada, we are pleased to offer healthy and delicious protein alternatives for Canadian consumers to enjoy.
OUR COMMITMENT TO SUSTAINABILITY & TRACEABILITY
Rossonero’s products are manufactured in Mazatlan, Mexico in a plant that is fully certified to the highest standards.
The Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) ensures that the fisheries in the area go back to port with only the allowed fish and accepted quantities. Each ship will bring on a person external to the fishery; who send scuba divers before the tuna is brought into the ship. Performed by hand, their task is to find any other species and separate them from the tuna. The captain of the ship delivers a detailed report with the conditions, any fishing bans, quantities, area where the tuna was caught, date, time, supervisors, etc.
The tuna is handled at temperature-controlled settings in a restricted and thoroughly sanitized area. Records are maintained for the process of each shipment.
Once in Canada, our system will keep traceable inventory as advised by the CFIA (Canada Food Inspection Agency).

What is the cost of shipping?
With a minimum purchase of $79, free shipping is available, only within Ontario at this time. For smaller purchases in this area, a $15 delivery fee will apply.
For the rest of Canada, Rossonero’s products are soon to be shipped through UPS. The rate is calculated based on the postal code where the order will be delivered. Shipping through a currier can become costly, make sure to check our store locator. This option is coming soon.
Do I have to be home for the delivery?
Yes, if you are in Ontario. Our local delivery partner has the capability of keeping your products safely frozen while in transit, however, we don’t use insulated packaging and recommend that the products are stored in the freezer as soon as possible. If we miss you, don’t worry, our team will arrange for another delivery time that works for you.
